Safe - In Style! (Abi and Andrew)

Andrew cursed as the car spluttered uselessly as it ran out of fuel. Truth be told it was something of a miracle that the damn jeep had made it to London from Liverpool in the first place. It was a 4x4, gas guzzling was in the description, especially when they'd laden it down with supplies and even strapped some to the roof. But then again they had stolen a lot of fuel from the abandoned cars along the roads they'd driven alongside. No point in trying to drive on the roads, they were mostly clogged up with dead cars.

Pulling his black scarf over his mouth and nose, he adjusted his fingerless black gloves as he opened the door to the jeep and jumped out. Closing the door behind him, he pulled his bloodied machette out of it's sheath and checked up and down the road. It was mostly clear to be honest. Only a few zombies anywhere near them. One of them was rather close though. Moving slowly but surely, Andrew snuck up behind the zombie before burying his machette into it's head. When the thing died he turned back to the jeep and pulled his scarf down,

"Looks to be clear." he called out as loudly as he dared to Abi. They'd figured out a long time ago that the zombies were mainly attracted by noise and smell. Since they couldn't do anything about their smell, they tried to stay as quiet as possible. Reaching through the open window of the rear window he pulled out the rifle he had found back in Liverpool. He'd use it more often if it weren't for a lack of ammo and the noise it made. He chuckled lightly when he caught sight of a sign, "Welcome to Kensington dear. I always knew we'd live somewhere like this one day."

Abi was well and truly glad that they had reached London at last, she was never one for car journey's and this was one of the longest and the most tense journeys that she had ever been on, the constant threat of zombies attacking them while they were on the move was something that never left the forefront of her mind, and it was only now that they were close to finding a place to hunker down, they were dissappating.

As soon as Andrew jumped out of the car, her heart flew to her mouth as it always did, and she peeked nervously around, when he had killed that one zombie, Abi hopped out of the car, gripping her lightweight metal baseball bat in her hands, it had become her new favourite weapon and she hoped that she wouldn't lose it along the road.

"Wow, it sure is posh here babe." she whispered quietly, making sure to keep her voice low so she didn't attract the other zombies "I guess these houses would have cost millions to own...how will we choose which one we stay in, see which one has a secure front? Try and climb in through the back?"

Getting the rest of the supplies from the back of the jeep, well, as much as she could, Abi was ready to move through the houses to find the one that they could get into first.

Andrew glanced back to make sure that Abi was ready, he wanted to make sure she was prepared before they went anywhere after all. He was not about to lose her because they had rushed the preparation before doing something. He nodded with a smirk,

"At least three million I'd say..." he muttered quietly before nodding as he made his way to one of the houses, "Want to try something first..."

Deciding to see if the other half lived like the poorer half did, Andrew reached underneath the welcome mat. He had to stiffle a laugh when he pulled the key to the front door out and showed it to Abi,

"Or we could do this?" he muttered before standing up at the ready near the door. He slowly inserted the key and turned to Abi, his machette at the ready, "I'll clear the corridor if there's any there and you cover my back... tell me when you're ready yeah?"

Abi blinked when Andrew said he wanted to try something, and she stopped to wonder what it was for a moment, before she realised that Andrew had started walking and she jolted into action making sure that she was alongside him, in case anything happened and he needed her help.

The buddy system always worked!

"What is it you want to do?" she asked, a little bit confused and a little irritated, after all if he planned to break the door down then that would definately attract the zombies attention, even if they were able to get inside before they were upon them.

When however she saw he had found the key under the mat, Abi almost facepalmed, honestly? They left the key under the mat in such an affluent area? Its a wonder the house hadn't been looted!

"Wow...were these people idiots or what?" she asked with a smirk on her lips before nodding her head, raising her baseball bat "I'm ready."

Andrew noticed that Abi was sticking close to him and couldn't help the light chuckle that escaped him. The term 'buddy system' had kind of stuck after one very strange conversation in the car ride down to London from Liverpool. Anything to keep her mind off the journey at that point though, Abi didn't really enjoy car journeys even with him in the car holding her hand.

He chuckled a little bit even as he gripped his machette tighter in his hand,

"Yes it would appear that they were. Then again the police would have actually patrolled here..." he muttered before taking a deep breath before smirking, "Let's go then!"

Andrew swung the door in quickly and took a few quick steps into the corridor, his machette held back ready to strike at... nothing. The hallway was empty. He blinked a few times before turning to Abi,

"The coast is clear... move on up inside the hallway and close the door yeah?" he suggested as he peaked into the empty living room. It was beautifully furnished but there were no zombies and no bodies. He closed the blinds in the living room to prevent zombies seeing them inside. He came back into the corridor with Abi, "The living room is clear too... kitchen?"
